Alfons Borrell (Barcelona, 1931) has a long, strong and faithful career devoted to painting. Using an abstract language, which has been defined as highly poetic, in which color and the gesture in some stages, they are very important, makes it regarded as one of the greatest exponents of the Catalan Lyrical Abstraction. |

If it builds, everything becomes easy, simple. " This look, it follows another characteristic of his work, because this is the result of the direct connection to their emotional state. Born in Barcelona in 1931, since 1940 lived in Sabadell. In almost self-training, was launched in the paint in the year 1950, while doing military service, the study of Anglada-Camarasa and then attended a brief time in the College of Fine Arts Barcelona as a pupil-free drawing. In 1956 the first solo exhibition in Sabadell. Also in Sabadell, in 1960 formed part of the group Gallot, a group influenced by the "Action Painting" Pollock, who made some nonconformist collective actions and activities. This was a brief but intense period that led to leave for a few years painting. Since the sixties is supported by critics as J.E. Cirlot, Alexandre Cirici, M ª Lluïsa Borràs or Pilar Parcerisas and since then his interest to poets, writers and artists, as Brossa, Vicenç Altaió or Perejaume. The year 2007 the center Tecla Sala of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat organized the first major retrospective of the painter.
